The Lead Mechanic oversees and performs repairs, diagnostics, and adjustments on all manufacturing and packaging equipment—including conveyors, packaging lines, HVAC, mixers, blenders, and pumps. This role ensures timely and accurate completion of all maintenance activities, drives preventative maintenance compliance, and supports the technical growth of the maintenance team. The Lead Mechanic plays a key role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency across the facility.
The regular schedule for this position is Thursday-Sunday, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Essential Job Functions
- Train and coordinate the mechanics team to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance (PM) on all production and facility equipment.
- At shift start, go over maintenance schedule, delegate mechanics’ tasks and pass down information to the next shift.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for critical equipment or process issues during the weekend/night shifts, ensuring accurate reporting and smooth follow-up with the broader maintenance team.
- Diagnose, repair, replace, and overhaul mechanical components across material handling systems, packaging lines, blenders, conveyors, hydraulic systems, air compressors, refrigeration/heating systems, air handlers, and variable speed controllers.
- Ensure completion and documentation of all PM activities; proactively identify gaps or opportunities to enhance PM effectiveness and equipment reliability.
- Coach, train, and mentor mechanics to build technical capabilities, reinforce safety standards, and support career development.
- Promote and enforce compliance with GMPs, Safety Policies, and all Federal, State, and Local regulations; ensure maintenance team members uphold these standards at all times.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts, contributing actionable ideas to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and optimize plant efficiency and product quality.
- Partner closely with Production to ensure equipment operates safely and consistently produces high-quality products.
- Assist with inventory control by recording and managing parts usage, and submitting requisitions for replacement materials as needed.
- Maintain accurate, detailed maintenance records for all work performed, ensuring documentation of completeness and traceability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, applying updated mechanical and electrical knowledge to plant systems.
- Install, test, and calibrate new or modified equipment, machines, wiring, and control programs according to specifications.
- Participate as a member of the Plant Emergency Response Team.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- 5 years of work experience in industrial machine maintenance (required).
- Experience in a bottling or food manufacturing environment (required).
- Certificate of Maintenance Mechanic Program (preferred).
- 2 years of experience supervising/directing, and training mechanics.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex mechanical and pneumatic systems and electrical components.
- Familiarity with PLC controls, mixing equipment, air compressors, pumps, and other production equipment commonly used in food or beverage manufacturing.
- Experience safely operating a wide range of basic and advanced hand tools.
- Working knowledge of safety procedures and best practices.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., as well as carry tools and materials, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work Thursday-Sunday, 6:00 pm – 6:00 am.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
