Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Homemaker to provide essential support and care to individuals in a home or community setting. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, ensure a safe and clean environment, and promote the well-being of residents. Responsibilities
- Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment
- Observe and report any changes in client’ health or behavior to healthcare professionals
- Assist with transfers
- Follow all safety protocols, including first aid, CPR, and infection control procedures
- Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through specialized care techniques
Skills
- Experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings
- Knowledge of dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and Alzheimer’s care practices
- Ability to perform patient monitoring and observe for changes in condition or behavior
- Familiarity with medication administration and care plans adherence
- Strong cleaning skills and attention to maintaining a hygienic environment
- Compassionate approach to working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs
- Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, assisting with transfers, and long periods of standing or walking
