Sterilizer Field Service Technician

Role Description The Sterilizer Field Service Technician is a full-time, remote role responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining medical sterilizers and related equipment at client sites. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory guidelines. The technician will travel to healthcare facilities within an assigned region, perform on-site inspections, calibrations, and testing, and document all work performed in service reports. The role also involves communicating clearly with clinical staff, providing basic user guidance on equipment operation, and coordinating with the internal team to order parts, schedule service visits, and ensure timely resolution of equipment issues.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including experience working with industrial or medical equipment, tools, and diagnostic instruments.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on complex systems, with attention to safety and compliance standards.
• Solid organizational and time-management skills to plan service visits, manage schedules, and complete accurate documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, explaining technical issues, and collaborating with internal team members.
• Comfort working independently in a remote, field-based role, including regional travel to healthcare facilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate, military training, or associate degree in electronics, biomedical equipment, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic computer skills for using service management software, email, and digital reporting tools.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to meet physical demands of the job (standing, lifting equipment, working in clinical environments).
