What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry-Level Medical Billing position at Prescient Practice Management?
Overview
No experience needed as this is an entry-level position. We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated and organized person to join our Medical Billing team. The ideal candidate will be willing to learn, able to be an independent thinker as well as part of a team, and meet deadlines and deliverables by using resources available. We will train and support your development. The ideal candidate must have strong character and solid work ethic.
If you are in a Medical Billing and/or Coding program, or a recent graduate of one of these programs, we are especially interested. We do not require years of experience, and can make sure you learn on the job from Day 1.
Duties of position
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding systems. We will train and support you.
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is included for accurate billing, individually and as part of a team.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process to ensure timely payment by using the methodology and tools we will show you.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations, DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) guidelines, and coding updates under guidance from your peers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with patients and internal team leads to resolve discrepancies related to claims processing.
