This position is for a preschool teacher associate at Muhlenberg South Elementary for the Head Start/Preschool program.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
CDA minimum requirement
Early Childhood Associates Degree Preferred
Basic Function:
Assist on site teacher in providing a safe, educational, quality environment for preschoolers
Duties/Essentional Functions:
- Administer first aid/medications according to established policy and procedures
- Perform a broad variety of self-help/health services for students as needed
- Assist students with personal hygiene needs such as toileting, diapering, feeding, etc.
- Monitor students on a one-to-one basis, small group settings, large group settings
- Assist lead teacher with planning, disinfecting, and daily routines
- Promote positve parent / child interactions
- Attend trainings/staff meetings
Ability To:
- Maintain regular attendance
- Model developmental appropriate practices
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Learn procedures, functions, and limitations of assigned duties based on both blended
programs
- Monitor, observe, and document student status based on progress monitoring techniques
- Learn and apply safety procedures and regulations
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
