What you’ll do
- Own the design and build automated test systems for manufacturing lines and field deployment (robotics, AV, advanced hardware)
- Architect modular test platforms using off-the-shelf instrumentation, custom fixtures, and harnessing
- Develop both rack-based factory equipment and portable field test tooling
- Create schematics, CAD models, BOMs, assembly documentation, and system diagrams
- Own full build lifecycle: design > fabricate (CNC/3D print) > assemble > bring-up > deploy
- Build and validate systems in our SF lab, then support deployment into customer sites
- Write Python-based tooling for test control, hardware interfaces, and system bring-up
What we’re looking for
- 5 years designing and deploying automated test systems (ideally manufacturing environment)
- Strong EE/mechatronics fundamentals: schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets
- Proficiency in CAD (fixture design, mechanical integration)
- Proficiency in Python (test control, hardware interfacing, automation)
- Hands-on builder: comfortable fabricating, wiring, assembling, and debugging systems end-to-end
- Experience with test instrumentation (power supplies, DMM, Scopes, DAQs)
- Experience deploying hardware into production or operational environments
Relevant experience (one or more)
- Robotics, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, etc.
- Vehicle or embedded comms: CAN, EtherCAT, Serial, Automotive Ethernet
- Designing fixtures, harnesses, and test interfaces for complex DUTs
Pay Range: $170K – $200K Equity
Salary : $170,000 - $200,000
