Internship Description
PVMF is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media & Marketing Intern to assist in increasing our digital presence, engagement, and awareness. This exciting opportunity offers hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, and communications while contributing to meaningful work that directly impacts the lives of older adults within our community.
Internship Overview
Learning opportunities could include:
- Observe and learn content strategy and development, under supervision for training purposes, for PVMF’s social media platforms and website.
- Learn how digital marketing campaigns are developed in fundraising, including idea and campaign material generation, and assisting with draft campaign materials to increase engagement, reach, and donations.
- Learn basic storytelling techniques by assisting with the creation of internal-use videos under staff supervision.
- Research trends and best practices in nonprofit social media, fundraising, and digital marketing.
- Shadow foundation team members to assist with selected tasks to gain exposure to marketing initiatives and project workflows as needed, helping to shape the organization’s online presence.
- Interns may, on a voluntary basis, accompany staff to select locations to observe and learn about organizational operations. These experiences are structured for educational purposes and do not involve performing job duties or independent responsibilities.
Internship Experience Outline
- Currently enrolled in a college/university program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital marketing principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, or community engagement is a plus.
Learning Experience Description
Will work with intern and their university internship coordinator to comply with internship credit requirements.
Supervised by the Donor Relations and Database Specialist. Activity training facilitated by various foundation team members, offering a wide variety of mentorship opportunities.

Additional Information
This is an unpaid, on-site internship.
Flexible hours. Start and end dates will coincide with 2026 university summer session(s).
