Presbyterian Medical Group’s Socorro clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II to join our team. In this role, you will provide clinical and administrative support to providers while helping deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting.This position offers a career ladder, allowing qualified candidates to be considered for either the Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II level based on education and experience.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.- Prepares patient for rooming and exam
- Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
- Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
- Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
- Provides basic education to patients
- Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
- Performs office-based procedures
- Performs basic foot care
- Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider
- Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs
- May perform regulatory audits
- Assists with visit closure
- Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs.
- May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required
- Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire
- BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required within 90 days of hire
- Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)
- Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe.
- ROT Registered Orthopedic Technologist ¿ Required within 12 months of hire.
