The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist is responsible for implementing the infection prevention and control program and education. The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist uses clinical knowledge and specialized training to coordinate, deliver and maintain efficient and effective infection prevention and control programs and conducts infection control research and serves as a consultant to other departments to ensure compliance with evidence-based infection control standards. The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist provides clinical education to employees with the goal of providing services excellence and decreasing the risk of infectious disease transmission.

Minimum Qualifications:
The estimated starting pay range for this role is $32.45 - $40.56 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed nurse in the state in which you practice.
- 2 years of healthcare/clinical experience preferred.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control or ability to obtain immediately after hire.
- Knowledge in the field of infectious disease and epidemiology.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for long-term care.
- Demonstrated ability to write and implement policies and procedures. Ability to apply experience with technology and IT based instruction.
- Must have or willing to obtain CPR certification.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills; adaptability, flexibility, and creativity. Ability to communicate with a variety of people.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
- Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies
- Demonstrates competency in teaching and applying adult education.
