What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at Prequel Solutions?
The Manufacturing Engineer II provides engineering support to all manufacturing and assembly processes at our client facility. This role also participates in product development and improvement activities, and handles tasks related to customer order processing.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Support and evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling upgrades
- Specify, develop, and implement quality control processes, equipment, and tooling. Troubleshoot technical issues with products, analyze available data, and determine root causes
- Collaborate with other engineers to develop solutions and implement product and process improvements
- Participate in all stages of new product development, including designing, prototyping, and testing
- Lead efforts in building prototypes and running tests to support engineering projects, product non-conformance investigations, and other plant initiatives
- Recommend and execute initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency
- Assist in order processing and review activities
- Serve as the primary interface between Engineering and Operations
- Develop work instructions, manuals, and other technical documentation

Experience, Education, & License Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience in manufacturing processes such as CNC, sheet metal fabrication, welding (various types), and electro-mechanical system assembly preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD modeling
- Familiarity with CE, RoHS, UL, CSA, and ISO standards and certification processes preferred
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems, including automation, PLC control systems, and instrumentation, desired
- Experience with SAP ERP system preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with sound engineering judgment
- Hands-on aptitude in building mechanical or electromechanical assemblies
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
