Prequel Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator for a large-scale manufacturing organization in the New Iberia / Lafayette, LA area.
This role will provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the HR team, helping keep core HR processes moving efficiently and accurately. The HR Coordinator will support employee transactions, documentation, leaves of absence, termination processing, unemployment and employment verifications, orientation, payroll-related questions, and general HR department coordination.

Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team.
- Assist HR Generalists and HR leadership with day-to-day HR tasks, projects, and employee support.
- Support employee termination processes, including system updates, exit interview coordination, tracking, documentation, and employee communications.
- Assist with leave of absence administration by tracking key dates, preparing related correspondence, supporting employee communication, and coordinating required updates.
- Complete employment verifications, unemployment documentation, medical support notices, and other HR-related requests.
- Prepare letters, presentations, employee communications, and HR documentation as needed.
- Maintain accurate trackers, employee records, and confidential HR files.
- Support new hire orientation and complete related administrative tasks.
- Assist with HR system transactions and employee data updates.
- Partner with payroll to help resolve employee pay questions or issues.
- Assist with policy interpretation and ensure HR processes are followed consistently.
- Support HR events and employee programs, including open enrollment, onsite employee events, and wellness-related activities.
- Help maintain and update internal process documentation and how-to guides.
- Recommend improvements to HR processes, systems, and workflows.
- Support tuition reimbursement administration and other HR programs as assigned.
- Perform other HR-related duties as needed.
- 1 year of administrative, HR, payroll, recruiting coordination, onboarding, or related office support experience preferred.
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage follow-up items.
- Ability to communicate gaps, roadblocks, or outstanding items clearly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
- Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior HR Coordinator, HR Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Payroll Assistant, Recruiting Coordinator, or onboarding support experience.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, logistics, warehouse, healthcare, or high-volume operational environment.
- Experience using HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, or employee record systems.
- Exposure to leaves of absence, onboarding, employment verifications, unemployment claims, payroll questions, or employee documentation.
