What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager & Operations Lead position at PrepVault Inc.?
General Manager & Operations Lead
Compensation: $75,000–$95,000 base performance bonus
Location: Strong overlap with US time zones required
Type: Full‑time
About PrepVault and this role
PrepVault™ is an emergency preparedness company that keeps people and organizations online, supplied, and operational when disasters hit. We combine Starlink‑powered backup internet, disaster hubs, and food/essentials distribution into one integrated platform.
We are hiring a General Manager & Operations Lead. This is a high‑ownership role for someone who will fully own the position, bring a strong sense of detail, and move quickly across operations, sales, and marketing instead of staying in a narrow lane. You will work directly with the founder and play a central role in building our website, our marketing engine, and our go‑to‑market execution.
Who should NOT apply
Please do not apply if:
- You typically change jobs every 6–12 months without clear, strong reasons.
- You prefer detailed instructions instead of creating the plan yourself.
- You are uncomfortable working with a fast‑paced, direct, demanding founder.
- You dislike checklists, documentation, and follow‑up.
Key responsibilities
Execution and ownership
- Convert founder ideas, notes, and discussions into structured project plans with timelines, owners, and deliverables.
- Run a simple weekly execution rhythm: priorities, owners, deadlines, and shipped outcomes.
- Take full ownership of your lane; ensure commitments are tracked and completed.
Operations, launches, and process
- Build and refine lightweight workflows for recurring work (launch plans, vendor onboarding, reporting).
- Play a central role in the ongoing development of our website, marketing plan, and campaigns, coordinating all moving pieces and deadlines.
- Maintain clear status tracking for key initiatives so leadership always knows what is on track or at risk.
- Identify operational gaps early and propose practical improvements.
Vendor and partner management
- Serve as the main point of contact for external vendors (Starlink partners, developers, agencies, creatives, and other service providers).
- Manage timelines, deliverables, communication, and basic performance reviews.
- Ensure external work is integrated into PrepVault’s operations, product, and marketing.
Founder leverage and communication
- Help manage the founder’s priorities and follow‑ups so his time is focused on the highest‑value work.
- Summarize meetings and calls into concise written notes with decisions, owners, and next steps.
- Provide clear, regular updates on progress, risks, and decisions needed.
Team coordination and future leadership
- Coordinate tasks and projects with existing operators and contractors.
- Over time, assume direct management of team members and own a larger portion of day‑to‑day operations.
Ideal candidate profile
- High‑ownership operator: takes initiative, makes decisions, and follows through without needing constant direction.
- Strong sense of detail: organized, precise, and comfortable managing many moving parts at once.
- Cross‑functional: able to move quickly between operations, sales, and marketing, without getting stuck in a single lane.
- Execution‑focused: prioritizes results and shipped work over theory and prolonged discussion.
- Calm under pressure: manages multiple projects, deadlines, and a high volume of communication without losing focus.
- Clear communicator: produces concise, structured written communication for updates, plans, and documentation.
Requirements (must‑haves)
- 3–7 years in operations, general management, chief‑of‑staff, or program management roles in startups or small, fast‑moving companies.
- Demonstrated employment stability: generally 2–3 years in each of your last roles, with clear progression in responsibility.
- Proven record of owning projects end‑to‑end, not only assisting.
- Experience coordinating external vendors and technical projects (such as web development, marketing, telecom/ISP, or similar).
- Strong proficiency with modern productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, project/task management tools, CRM/marketing platforms).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Nice‑to‑have experience
- Prior role as a Chief of Staff or direct operations lead supporting a founder or CEO.
- Experience in telecom/ISP, SaaS, logistics, field services, emergency preparedness, or disaster‑response‑adjacent sectors.
- Exposure to both sales and marketing execution (campaign launches, funnels, or basic performance analysis).
- Comfort with basic financial tracking (budgets, simple P&L views, and reporting).
What success looks like after 12 months
- The founder spends most of his time on strategy, relationships, and key decisions rather than chasing tasks.
- There is a consistent operating rhythm with clear priorities, owners, deadlines, and visible progress.
- Vendors and contractors see you as the central coordination point and respect agreed timelines and expectations.
- Loose ends are rare; when gaps appear, you address them and improve the underlying process.
- PrepVault has advanced significantly in product readiness, website and funnel build‑out, launches, and revenue due in large part to your execution.
Compensation and structure
- Base salary: $75,000–$95,000, depending on experience and location.
- Bonus: performance‑based, up to 10–15% tied to clear execution and results.

- Send your resume or LinkedIn profile, clearly showing dates and responsibilities for each role.
