What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-Person Tutor / Test Prep / EF Coach Wanted — Wellesley, Newton, Lexington, Weston position at Prepped and Polished, Tutoring and Test Preparation?
We're a boutique tutoring company with over 25 years of experience, built on integrity, empathy, and dedication. We've helped thousands of students raise their SAT/ACT scores, improve their grades, and build stronger organizational skills — one-on-one, in person.
Our tutors are typically K-12 teachers or college professors (current or retired), or Master's/PhD candidates in education-related fields. What sets our team apart is genuine subject mastery paired with the ability to inspire and motivate.
We're hiring several in-person tutors for the 2026–27 academic year, working out of our classrooms in Wellesley, Newton, Lexington, Sudbury, and Edgartown (Martha's Vineyard), MA — or at students' homes.
This is a great fit if:
- You have a full-time job and want to supplement your income
- You're a teacher who wants to work one-on-one with students
- You're pursuing a Master's or PhD and love working with kids and teens
- You're an educator who wants to work somewhere your voice actually matters — we're small, and we listen
Open positions:
- Academic Subject Tutor (grades K–12)
- SAT Tutor (700 on the section you'd teach)
- ACT Tutor (32 on the section you'd teach)
- SSAT/ISEE Private School Test Tutor
- Math Tutor (Pre-Calc, AB/BC Calc preferred)
- High School Science Tutor (Chemistry, Biology, Physics)
- Executive Function Coach (experience preferred; will train the right person)
What we're looking for:
- One-on-one tutoring experience — online and/or in-home
- Reliable transportation for travel between our classrooms and to students' homes
- Availability afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends (our peak hours)
- Bachelor's degree from a competitive college, or a Master's/Doctorate — teachers and educators encouraged to apply
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable connecting with kids, teens, and parents alike
- A genuine passion for education and empowering young people
- A preference for a smaller company where you're not just a number
- A team player who takes feedback well and follows through
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you — please send a resume and cover letter.
