PREP competes at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels in the Illinois High School Hockey League North Central Division. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Hockey Coach based out of Mount Prospect Ice Arena. The Hockey Coach will plan and conduct on-ice and off-ice training sessions, develop game strategies, and mentor players to improve their skills individually and as a team. The role requires overseeing team development, fostering a positive and competitive environment, and working closely with assistant coaches, staff, and parents to ensure the success of the program. The coach will also lead the team during practices, games, and other club-related events.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Ice Hockey and Hockey fundamentals
- Experience in Coaching and Training athletes to improve skills and performance
- Strong Communication skills to effectively interact with players, parents, and staff
- Ability to develop strategies, motivate players, and maintain a positive team culture
- Knowledge of hockey safety standards and rules
- Previous experience coaching high school or youth hockey programs is an advantage
- USA Hockey coaching certification required
