Premold Corp. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Detail Finisher to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will prepare molded plastic parts for painting by removing imperfections and ensuring each part meets our quality standards.
No experience? No problem! We provide paid, on-the-job training for motivated individuals who are eager to learn.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Read and understand work instructions, customer specifications, and computer-based production information.
- Prepare plastic parts for painting using pneumatic hand sanders, Scotch-Brite pads, and other finishing tools.
- Sand, smooth, and refine surfaces to meet quality standards.
- Apply Bondo and spot putty to repair pinholes, voids, and surface imperfections.
- Remove flash using picks, knives, files, and other hand tools.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they are free of defects before moving to the paint process.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing or finishing experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to learn new processes and follow detailed work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 10-hour shifts.
- Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools safely and effectively.
