Duties
- Safely load and unload furniture, boxes, and equipment using proper lifting techniques and equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary
- Pack items securely to prevent damage during transit, utilizing appropriate packing materials and methods
- Assist with disassembly and reassembly of furniture or equipment as needed for efficient transport
- Drive box trucks or commercial vehicles with manual or automatic transmissions to transport items between locations
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured for route driving to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Maintain accurate inventory records of packed items and completed deliveries
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about delivery times and handling their belongings with care
Qualifications
- Prior warehouse experience or moving experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is key!
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving or courier services is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Familiarity with tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks enhances your versatility on the job
- Experience driving box trucks or vehicles with manual transmission is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients during pickups and deliveries
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently and work effectively in physically demanding environments
