What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Premium Quality Lighting?
PQL is a leading lighting manufacturing / distribution company that has been in business for more than 30 years. We are seeking a Warehouse Associate at our Homewood, IL office, who is responsible for staging work and keeps a good flow of the production side, responsible for accuracy of the inbound and outbound operation, able to work through multiple tasks simultaneously, manage time efficiently, and work with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Perform daily order picking, packing and processing all items within warehouse
- Ensures accuracy on orders picked
- Maintains work area to be clean, accessible and safe for traffic
- Restock and organize work area
- Maintains inventory accuracy in work area
- Must be capable of lifting and moving products up to 40lbs
- Utilize material handling equipment such as pallet jacks
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine
- Unloads containers
- Marks materials with identifying information
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
- Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
- Prepares parcels for mailing and/or shipping.
- Additional duties and responsibilities will vary based upon departmental needs
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, conversational Spanish is a plus.
