Role Description: The Quality Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Fairfield, NJ. This position is responsible for performing quality inspections on labels and packaging throughout the production process, ensuring products meet internal standards and customer specifications. The role includes conducting in-process and final quality checks, documenting inspection results, and assisting in root cause analysis when defects are identified. The Quality Technician works closely with production, engineering, and management to support continuous improvement initiatives, maintain compliance with quality procedures, and help implement corrective and preventive actions. Daily activities also involve using measurement tools, following safety and operational guidelines, and contributing to a culture of quality and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Strong Quality Control skills, including performing inspections, measurements, and testing of materials and finished products.
- Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends in defects or non-conformances, and support root cause investigations.
- Experience with Quality Auditing activities, such as conducting internal audits, reviewing documentation, and verifying compliance with standards.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance practices, including process validation, documentation, and adherence to established procedures.
- Understanding of Quality Management principles, including continuous improvement, corrective and preventive actions, and use of quality metrics.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or packaging environments; prior experience in labels, printing, or related industries is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions; attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on the production floor.
- Comfort using basic measurement tools and quality instruments; proficiency with standard office software for reporting and recordkeeping.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in quality or manufacturing is beneficial.
