Duties
- Lead the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and treatment protocols aligned with best practices in behavioral health and mental health counseling.
- Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including therapists, counselors, case managers, and support personnel to ensure delivery of exceptional patient care.
- Oversee intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for clients across various populations, individuals with addiction, and those experiencing PTSD or addiction challenges.
- Coordinate group therapy sessions, individual counseling, family counseling, and psychotherapy services while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Manage crisis intervention efforts and crisis management protocols to support clients in urgent situations effectively.
- Facilitate clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts to improve service quality and contribute to ongoing advancements in behavioral health practices.
- Ensure compliance with ICD-9/10 coding standards for accurate medical records documentation; utilize CPT coding for billing processes where applicable.
- Maintain thorough patient records using electronic health record systems while safeguarding sensitive information per HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, healthcare providers, and community agencies to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in behavioral health or mental health settings with a focus on clinical leadership roles such as Clinical Director or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques including applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and behavior management strategies.
- Strong background working with adult, individuals with alcohol and drugs addiction or mental disorder DTD , DTO and homelessness populations requiring specialized care such as PTSD or addiction counseling.
- Demonstrated expertise in crisis intervention, crisis management, and emergency response procedures within healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, medical records management, and healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent skills in patient assessment, case management, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment planning across diverse client populations.
- Ability to lead clinical teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes continuous improvement and professional development.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; licensure as required by state law; additional certifications such as Motivational Interviewing or specialized training in pediatric or autism services are preferred.
