Multi-Line Extruder Operator – 3rd Shift

11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
$22.63 – $28.03/hour $3.00/hour Shift Differential
Premiere Staffing Services, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Multi-Line Extruder Operator for a 3rd shift opportunity with our manufacturing client in the Turners Falls area. This is a great opportunity for a skilled extrusion professional looking to join a stable and growing production environment.
Position Summary:
The Multi-Line Extruder Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating tubing, semi-pressure, and pressure extrusion processes. This role includes operating multi-head/tandem and multi-extrusion lines, printers, and running one or two extruders simultaneously based on production demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate multi-head/multi-line extruders according to specifications and shop orders
- Move heavy wire reels and materials to take-off apparatus
- Properly mix components and compounds to maintain production stability
- Schedule and consolidate shop orders for maximum efficiency
- Perform precise die and leader placements and temperature/speed adjustments
- Clean and maintain extruder heads, screws, and barrels
- Operate marking/printing machines to apply identification markings
- Conduct visual, tactile, and quality testing including:
- Concentricity
- OD/ID
- Elongation
- Adherence
- Monitor production continuously and adjust water troughs, speeds, and feeds as needed
- Detect and report defective materials or equipment malfunctions
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work within the MIS system
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Basic math skills required
- 3 years of progressive extrusion/manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to make independent setup decisions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., push/pull large reels
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Comfortable working in manufacturing conditions (noise, fumes, dust, temperature changes)
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
