Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, focused examinations, and triage.
- Administer medications and injections safely.
- Prepare patients for examinations and minor office procedures.
- Conduct patient education and reinforce provider instructions regarding medications, treatments, and preventive care.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly and accurately in the Athena EHR.
- Maintain detailed, compliant medical documentation using ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for billing and reporting.
- Perform diagnostic testing (strep, flu, urinalysis, glucose, ECG).
- Assist with wound care and routine in-office procedures.
- Coordinate care with providers, pharmacies, and outside specialists.
- Support chronic disease management programs and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment following infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted LPN license in the State of Arkansas (or compact state).
- Certification: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in Family practice or outpatient clinical settings.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (Athena preferred; Epic or Cerner experience beneficial).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards.
- Skilled in injections, venipuncture, and phlebotomy.
- Soft Skills:

Work Environment
- Outpatient family practice setting
- Typical hours: Monday–Friday, daytime shifts.
