Description
A general cleaner is assigned to perform the overall janitorial services at the facility and may be cross trained in other positions to ensure the operation runs smoothly in the event of absences. Your responsibilities would include the cleaning of the Farragut's Clerks Office, West Knox Senior Center, Farragut Library and Cedar Bluff Library. You will receive paid milage between properties.
Pay Rate: $13 hour plus mileage
Shift / Schedule: 6pm - 2:30am
A general cleaner is assigned to perform the overall janitorial services at the facility and may be cross trained in other positions to ensure the operation runs smoothly in the event of absences. This position primarily consists of general housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors; taking out trash; dusting; and cleaning restrooms. A general cleaner sweeps and mops floors, vacuums carpets, cleans rugs and dusts furniture and equipment. A general cleaner may be responsible for ensuring specifically designated doors are locked. Additional job duties include collecting and removing garbage, cleaning and restocking bathrooms and cleaning windows, and picking up debris around the facility. If there is an unexpected mess, such as a large spill, the general cleaner will be called to clean it up.

Key Responsibilities
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
- Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
- Restock supplies in bathrooms, breakrooms and common areas.
- Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles, as necessary.
- Dusting and cleaning office desks and furniture that are not cluttered.
- Cleaning windowsills and windows.
- Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner.
- Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
- Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
- Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good client/ customer service skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively with a team.
- Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
