Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated part time, Class A or Class B Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating various types of commercial vehicles to ensure the safe and timely delivery of freight across designated routes. The ideal candidate will have experience with a walking floor, or belt trailer and possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. Duties
- Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks, including tractor-trailers with live floors
- Load freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as payloader or telehandler as necessary
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Follow assigned routes for delivery and pick-up, adhering to schedules and traffic laws
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Must have the ability to back into tight spots to unload live floor trucks
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for Class A or B vehicles
- Experience with manual transmissions preferred but not required
- Delivery driver experience in freight transportation or similar fields highly desirable
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently and safely
- Knowledge of route driving best practices and traffic regulations
- Ability to operate additional equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Strong focus on safety, reliability, and punctuality
- This job is about 30 to 36 hours a week as a class b. If you do have a class A, it could be full time to the right candidate, which would include tandem truck and sometimes running a semi combination.
- Home every night but allows for flexibility to work ahead if you need a day off as long we work with customer schedules
- The work can be completed at your pace as long as the hours worked are within legal log limits.
