About the Role
Premier Trucking Group is hiring a Head of Driver Recruitment to lead our CDL driver recruitment function for trucking operations. This is a leadership role: you will manage a recruiting team, own the hiring pipeline end to end, and be accountable for hitting hiring targets that support our fleet growth.
We need someone with proven experience running high-volume recruitment in a fast, deadline-driven environment who can lead a team, fix weak points in the funnel, and move qualified CDL drivers through the process quickly and professionally.
What You'll Own
- Build and continuously improve the full CDL driver recruitment process, from sourcing through hire, and own pipeline results (time-to-hire, quality, offer acceptance)
- Lead, train, and hold accountable a team of driver recruiters, including daily/weekly hiring targets and performance coaching
- Ensure candidates are properly screened before advancing, coordinating with Safety and HR on MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse, drug testing, and employment verification
- Track the full hiring funnel and fix drop-off points, keeping Recruitment, HR, Safety, Dispatch, and Fleet communication tight
- Report weekly and monthly on core KPIs: qualified leads, pass rates, time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, recruiter productivity, and early driver turnover
- Work with HR and Safety to understand driver attrition and improve how the role is presented to candidates upfront
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of recruitment experience, including 2-3 years managing a recruiting team
- Direct experience in driver recruitment and/or logistics recruitment
- Working knowledge of U.S. trucking compliance (CDL, DOT/FMCSA, MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse) is a strong advantage
- Proven ability to manage a hiring funnel by the numbers: conversion rates, cost-per-hire, time-to-hire
