Traffic Control Flagger – Fauquier County, VA & Surrounding Areas

Premier Traffic Team is hiring Traffic Control Flaggers for full-time weekday work throughout Fauquier County, Virginia, with additional work in Frederick County, Clarke County, and surrounding areas.

Most of our work is performed throughout Fauquier County, so applicants should be comfortable traveling to different jobsite locations within the county as well as occasionally traveling to surrounding counties based on project needs.

Reporting to Work

We currently have a meetup location in Culpeper, Virginia where employees may meet before traveling to the assigned jobsite.

Employees also have the option to travel directly to the jobsite listed in their nightly dispatch text if that location is closer or more convenient.

Nightly dispatch texts provide the information needed for the following workday, including your assigned jobsite and reporting instructions.

Position Responsibilities

Traffic Control Flaggers are responsible for helping maintain a safe work zone for construction crews, motorists, pedestrians, and fellow employees.

Responsibilities may include:

• Directing and controlling traffic through active work zones
• Using STOP/SLOW paddles and other approved traffic-control equipment
• Setting up, maintaining, and breaking down traffic-control work zones
• Placing cones, signs, stands, and other equipment
• Communicating with crew members and supervisors by radio
• Following all company and client safety procedures
• Remaining alert and attentive while assigned to traffic-control duties
• Working outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Traveling to assigned jobsites throughout Fauquier County and surrounding areas

Experience & Certifications

No previous traffic-control experience is required.

Traffic-control or flagger certifications are preferred, but we provide training for employees who need certification.

A valid driver's license is preferred, particularly for employees interested in future advancement opportunities.

Schedule

This is primarily a full-time weekday position. However occasional weekend jobs come available, and are offered on a first come first served basis.

Start times, reporting locations, and daily assignments may vary depending on the project and client schedule. Employees should be able to reliably report to their assigned location at the scheduled time.

Advancement Opportunities

We are currently hiring for Flagger positions, but Premier Traffic Team promotes from within whenever possible.

Employees who demonstrate reliability, leadership, strong communication, safe work practices, and an understanding of traffic-control operations may be considered for advancement into Crew Lead positions as opportunities become available.

Pay is discussed during the hiring process and may vary based on experience, certifications, qualifications, and position.
