What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Software Developer position at Premier Trading and Transportation, LLC (ND)?
Job Description:
Job Type: Part-time
Location: Perkins, OK
Hours: flexible around class schedule, potentially moving to a full time position
Build and maintain the software a business actually runs on — Dot Net, Node/Express, React, data import/export (ETL) scripts, and the databases and infrastructure behind them. We want someone curious about software engineering to help part-time and get real experience writing and maintaining production code. No professional experience required.
We use LLM tools as part of day-to-day development and testing — writing and reviewing code, drafting scripts, and troubleshooting. You'll learn to use them effectively and, just as importantly, how to verify their output.
You'll get direct mentorship and exposure across the whole stack — servers, networking, web, databases, and hardware — the kind of practical experience that's hard to get from tutorials.
Job Requirements:
What you'll work on:
Writing data import/export scripts (ETL) that move data between databases and applications
Linux, Mac, and the command line
Docker, KVM, and containers
nginx, SSL, and self-hosted web applications
MSSQL / MySQL / MariaDB databases
DNS, VLAN, VPN and other networking fundamentals
LLM-assisted development and testing
What we're looking for:
Some programming experience (any language)
Reads error messages carefully instead of guessing
Methodical — changes one thing at a time when troubleshooting
Comfortable asking questions and learning in the open
Curious, persistent and reliable
Communicates clearly about what they did and what happened
