This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Controls Engineer who is looking to build a strong foundation in industrial automation and advance their career in controls engineering.

The hiring team is looking for someone with a solid technical foundation, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in developing their expertise in controls, automation, PLC programming, and manufacturing systems. You do not need to be an expert—we’re looking for someone who is ready to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and grow within the organization.

The Controls Engineer will work alongside experienced engineering and maintenance professionals while gaining hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, VFDs, motion control, conveyors, and automated manufacturing and warehouse systems.

What You’ll Do

• Support troubleshooting and optimization of automated manufacturing and warehouse equipment.
• Assist with PLC programming, modifications, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Gain hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation control systems.
• Support HMI development and troubleshooting using FactoryTalk View, RSView, or similar platforms.
• Assist with equipment commissioning, startup, testing, and controls integration.
• Work alongside experienced Controls Engineers to diagnose and resolve automation issues.
• Support improvements to equipment reliability, production efficiency, and system performance.
• Assist with PLC, HMI, electrical, and controls documentation.
• Support automated conveyor, packaging, material-handling, and manufacturing systems.
• Participate in controls and automation projects involving new equipment and system upgrades.
• Learn and apply standardized PLC programming and controls practices.
• Build knowledge of VFDs, motion control, industrial networking, and machine safety systems.
• Stay current with new automation technologies and continue developing technical skills.
• Take on increasing responsibility as technical knowledge and experience grow.

What We’re Looking For

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Early-career experience in controls, automation, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field.
• Internship, co-op, apprenticeship, school project, or hands-on manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Basic understanding of PLCs, electrical controls, automation, or industrial equipment.
• Strong desire to develop a long-term career in Controls Engineering and Industrial Automation.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Foundational knowledge of PLCs and industrial control systems.
• Exposure to Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation is preferred.
• Familiarity with Studio 5000, RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, or RSView is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and programming systems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Internship, co-op, or project experience involving PLCs, automation, robotics, electrical controls, or manufacturing systems.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley products.
• Exposure to Studio 5000, RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, or RSView.
• Experience with PLC-controlled manufacturing or packaging equipment.
• Exposure to conveyors, material handling, or automated warehouse systems.
• Familiarity with VFDs, motion control, industrial networks, or machine safety systems.
• Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley training or certifications.
