Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to manage indirect materials, inventory control, and procurement support within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability and accuracy of materials that support production operations, including maintenance components, spare parts, and operational supplies.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, purchasing, and suppliers to keep operations running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Planning
- Monitor and manage indirect material inventory levels to ensure availability and accuracy
- Perform daily inventory adjustments and reconcile discrepancies across systems
- Analyze usage trends and production requirements to adjust reorder points and inventory levels
- Investigate and resolve stock shortages, overages, and inventory inconsistencies
Procurement & Order Management
- Generate and manage purchase requisitions (PRs) and coordinate with purchasing teams to create purchase orders (POs)
- Process spot-buy requests and support urgent procurement needs
- Track open orders and resolve delays, discrepancies, or missing receipts with suppliers and purchasing teams
- Manage blanket and recurring purchase orders for key material programs
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Generate daily and periodic usage and inventory reports using Excel and internal systems
- Maintain accurate data across systems and ensure alignment between inventory platforms
- Support audits, including inventory counts and excess/obsolete material assessments
Operational Support
- Manage shared communications (e.g., team inbox) to resolve procurement and inventory issues
- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams on material needs, repairs, and design changes
- Support material setup, changes, and lifecycle management within inventory systems
- Track and manage repairable materials and ensure proper documentation and movement
System & Process Management
- Maintain and update material records, including new item setup, changes, and deletions
- Resolve receiving and processing issues (e.g., quantity discrepancies, missing documentation, incorrect part numbers)
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and inventory control standards
- Provide training and support to team members on systems and processes as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, inventory management, or a related role
- At least 2 years of hands-on SAP experience (required)
- Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SAP for inventory and procurement processes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing indirect materials or non-production inventory
- Background in inventory control, supply chain, or warehouse operations
- Familiarity with accounting principles or cost tracking
- Experience working with large components or maintenance-related materials

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
