OVERVIEW:

The Event Manager plays an important role to Premier’s success in building and executing world-class events in the sports business and our highly-impactful work with faith-based non-profit organizations that has resulted in raising over $100M to fund missional initiatives around the globe. This person serves as the primary coordinator of many operational and hospitality components affiliated with Premier-managed events to insure an exceptional guest experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

The Event Manager leads many details of Premier’s event execution with an emphasis on overseeing the contracted venues (hotels, resorts, theaters, arenas) and the hospitality elements that create a first-class guest experience. 


This position engages collaboratively with Premier’s event team in the overall planning process and works directly with clients as the liaison with our team, the venue and other partners. While we are seeking a seasoned professional that brings a strong track record in event planning, it is a hands-on position. The ideal candidate has the experience to lead and the drive to personally execute end-to-end event logistics, from high level planning to on-site implementation.


This includes, but is not limited to:


Provide support in the venue RFP process, selection and contract negotiations.

Strategize best meeting spaces, function locations, schedule and venue deliverables to reach event goals.

  • Develop the timeline, execution plan and expectations of all required aspects with the host venue.
  • Serve as lead liaison with venue staff for pre-event planning communications, meetings and on-site execution related to operations and hospitality.
  • Lead process of creating the food and beverage menus with catering/banquets and coordinate set-up for all meal functions with venue staff.
  • Oversee development of BEO’s and hold venue staff accountable for proper execution.
  • Track event registrations/RSVP’s and maintain master lists of attendees, rooming needs,  F&B counts and special requests, then coordinate all requirements with hotel/venue.
  • Identify and contract event-related vendors, such as furnishings, photographer, videographer, labor providers and any required rentals.
  • As needed, identify and contract guest transportation providers and oversee execution.
  • Oversee billing process with hotel/venue, including cross-referencing all contracted rates, and providing a final report for both internal and external approval.
  • Provide support as needed for event committee meetings, press conferences and other event-related functions.
  • Collaborate with Premier’s event team members to integrate areas such as creative, production, awards, gifts, floral and overall guest experience.
  • Participate in ongoing planning meetings with clients.
  • Budget management of designated line items.


QUALIFICATIONS

Key personal qualifications for this position include the following:

  •  7 years of experience managing events with emphasis on venue coordination and hospitality
  •  Knowledge of the structure and services provided by hotels and venues needed to execute high-end events. 
  • Brings a passion for excellence and exceeding expectations.

  • Mindset of persistence and ability to work through challenges to deliver results.
  • Ability to create a first-class event environment with tastefulness and elegance. 
  • Highly-organized, good prioritization skills and ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven work environment.
  • Ability to work with wide range of people: from client executives and VIPs to all levels of venue service staff and vendors.
  •  Places high importance on personal character and moral values, bringing a heart for the non-profit ministries that Premier serves.
  • Provide value in a teamwork environment working together for common purpose.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Premier currently operates in a hybrid work environment, with a majority of daily tasks   performed remotely during traditional office hours while also being present for in-person meetings or assignments both internally and externally.
  • This position requires employee to live and work in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
  • Position requires a work schedule that includes travel and the execution of events and meetings that may occur on evenings and/or weekends.


COMPENSATION

Salary:            Dependent upon experience and qualifications, ranging from $80,000 - $100,000

Benefits:         Medical Insurance – company pays 100% of premium for employee
