About the Role
Premier Service Company is looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our fleet of construction machinery operating at peak performance. This is a hands-on role where your expertise directly drives project success — from diagnosing complex hydraulic issues to performing field repairs that get equipment back online fast.
You’ll work in both our shop and the field, collaborating with a supportive team that values craftsmanship, safety, and getting the job done right.

What You’ll Do
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy machinery including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and backhoes
- Perform routine preventive maintenance — oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system failures using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
- Conduct field visits to repair equipment on-site and minimize project downtime
- Review work orders, scope issues thoroughly, and develop clear work plans before starting repairs
- Maintain accurate service records, parts inventory, and equipment logs using fleet management software
- Follow all safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment
- Collaborate with the team and take on additional duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a background check (criminal and motor vehicle records) and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Experience using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals
- Physically able to lift at least 50 lbs and work in a loud, fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience servicing construction or heavy equipment
- Familiarity with fleet management software
- CDL-A
- Certifications in heavy equipment or diesel mechanics

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This role involves working in both shop and field environments. Candidates should be comfortable with:
- Exposure to loud noise and outdoor conditions
- Sustained physical activity including lifting (50 lbs), bending, and kneeling
- Maintaining alertness and focus in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
- Occasional travel to job sites for field repairs
