Summary:

Performs and coordinates the maintenance and servicing (and occasional installation) of commercial and residential fire/security alarm systems and equipment for the alarm monitoring station for the customer. Able to lead, train and coordinate the day-to-day work of technical staff and/or subcontractors. Interfaces with customers to ensure the highest grade of customer satisfaction. Performs associated administrative duties such as note-taking and .

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Installs and service fire/security alarms, CCTV, Access Control, and other associated systems

2. Program and service equipment and systems including fire alarms, intrusion detection, video surveillance, integrated equipment and systems related to the alarm monitoring station

3. Upon completion of each job or service visit, maintain records of work performed with detailed note-taking and communication with our Service Manager

4. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

5. Set the standard for teamwork, professionalism, and accountability among service technicians

6. Provide guidance and direction to junior technicians while maintaining a respectful, team-first mindset

7. Execute tasks as assigned and ensure work is completed according to company standards and supervisor direction

8. Promote a culture of cooperation, mutual respect, and continuous improvement

Minimum Job Requirements:

· High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience in the low-voltage industry, and at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

· Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

· Ability to fully service and test different fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV/Camera Wiring, electronic premises security systems, and alarm monitoring station operating software and equipment. Installation will be needed occasionally as well.

· Ability to follow and listen to directions from superiors

· Ability to write reports containing technical information

· Ability to keep confidential and important customer information secure, such as passwords or account information

· Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade

· Ability to program alarm system panels

· Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures

· Ability and willingness to learn and be trained on less-knowledgeable or new systems

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

· Work is performed in a variety of environments including commercial and residential facilities. This role will involve working around low-voltage electrical systems, ladders, lifts, ceilings, and confined spaces. Exposure to dust, noise, weather conditions, and construction environments may occur. Adherence to all safety procedures and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) is expected.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
