Duties
- Support licensed physical therapists and rehabilitation professionals in implementing patient treatment plans.
- Assist with patient transfers using proper transfer methods while maintaining safety and comfort.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as assisting with exercises, mobility training, and equipment setup.
- Prepare treatment areas, ensure cleanliness, and organize therapy equipment for daily sessions.
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, report observations accurately, and document progress.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Help with patient intake procedures and ensure proper documentation of each session’s details.
Requirements
- Prior experience in hospital, outpatient, or inpatient settings with exposure to acute or sub-acute care environments.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and rehabilitation principles.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely during patient transfers or equipment movement.
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatrics, orthopedics, or post-surgical patients is preferred.
- Ability to adhere to infection control protocols while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
