Premier Pump & Power is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial pumps and energy solutions. We specialize in large, custom, portable pump packages, and our products are renowned for their performance, serviceability and built-in quality. We proudly serve thousands of customers from our global headquarters in Vancouver, Washington and our new manufacturing factory in Houston, Texas.
You will be responsible for material and parts preparation for the powder coating and/or painting of fabricated steel items through various techniques.
You will report to the VP of Operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare parts through sand blasting, cleaning and pretreatments.
- Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces.
- Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment.
- Load and unload the blast cabinet.
- Assist with painting or powder-coating as needed.
- Apply and remove non-skid materials as needed.
- Observe machine gauges and equipment operations to detect defects.
- Load and unload parts or product into fixtures.
- Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout work area and facility.
- Complete required job paperwork/documentation.
- Maintain a safe work environment for self and others when operating equipment and/or performing job functions.
- Detect and report defective or questionable material, product, and conditions to department lead.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in work areas.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures; paying special attention to safety regulations.
Qualifications
- 1 years of Sandblasting experience
- High school diploma / GED, or equivalent additional job experience
- Understand job-specific work orders and paperwork

Physical Demands and Work Environment
This is a physically demanding role in a manufacturing setting. Employees must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and safely move up to 50 pounds. This role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete shop floors.
Employees are required to frequently use hands for manual dexterity and fine manipulation, and frequently reach with hands and arms. The role occasionally requires kneeling, stooping, or crouching. Close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception are required for navigating a shop floor with active mobile equipment. To ensure safety, employees must be able to recognize and respond to auditory warnings, such as forklift horns and shop alarms.
While working in the factory, employees will regularly work near moving mechanical parts, high-heat equipment, and active forklifts. Exposure to fumes, sparks, and moderate to loud noise levels is expected. The use of standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety-toed boots and respirators while in designated areas, is strictly required.
