Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in cleaning and custodial services, with the ability to perform various maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role is essential in supporting the overall functionality and appearance of our premises, whether commercial, industrial, or residential spaces.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain restrooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, and other common areas in a clean and sanitary condition
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during custodial activities
- Support special projects such as painting or industrial cleaning when required
- Maintain a regular schedule for routine cleaning tasks to ensure consistent facility upkeep
Qualifications
- Proven experience in janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning roles preferred
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and polishing
- Experience with residential painting or industrial cleaning is a plus
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance and general upkeep tasks
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Reliable work ethic with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
