Senior Staff Accountant Job Duties:
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
- Reconciles all balance sheet accounts each period.
- Controls expense vouchers and prepares payments by entering or accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; assigning proper accounting periods; requesting disbursements; reconciling vendor accounts.
- Supervises inventory control/cycle counting clerk
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
- Prepares routine KPI and other performance reports.
- Maintains and balances an automated reporting system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related projects as needed.
Staff Accountant Skills and Qualifications:
Accounting degree, Microsoft Suite Proficiency, specifically high level excel skills, SFAS Rules, Reporting Skills, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Productivity, Verbal Communication, General Math Skills
Education – Bachelor degree in Accounting or finance required
