Duties
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism and warmth, providing excellent customer service at all times
- Manage appointment scheduling using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix, ensuring accurate and timely patient flow
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and conduct insurance verification processes
- Handle multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary
- Maintain accurate medical records by updating EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT), and billing information
- Assist with medical billing processes, including collection efforts and coding accuracy to optimize revenue cycles
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records
Skills
- Extensive experience with medical administrative support in a clinical setting, including front desk operations and office management
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
- Familiarity with health information management standards including HIPAA compliance and documentation review processes
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately for Medicare and other insurance providers
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with office equipment such as multi-line phones and fax machines
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
- Outstanding patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to ensure seamless integration into our team environment
