X-Ray Technician PRN

Premier Physicians is currently seeking a PRN (as needed) X-Ray Technician to cover in Pain Management

Our growing group practice encompasses internal and family medicine, medical and surgical specialties, and has comprehensive on-site diagnostic centers conveniently located in the communities we serve in the Cleveland metro area.

Premier Physicians has an open position for a PRN (as needed) Time X-Ray Technician who is a team player to cover in Pain Management.

OVERVIEW: Responsible for taking all x-rays, performing all x-ray related duties, and assisting in the performance of all other diagnostic testing required.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare patients for radiologic exams.
• Takes x-rays following guidelines for patient care and safety.
• Follows radiation protection guidelines using proper shielding.
• In charge of all x-ray equipment: notifying the proper people in case of breakdown.
• Daily quality control done on processor.
• Logs all radiographic procedures.
• Document in EMR system, ECW.
• Develop and process all radiographic film and prepare film for courier in a timely manner.
• Maintain all radiographic licensing for all equipment and employees.
• Generate reports from radiologist to ordering physicians in a timely manner.
• Assists the secretary with office duties and registration of patients.
• Preps patients for daily stress test and input all information into cardiac monitoring device, performs blood pressure and EKG, assists physicians and nuclear technologist during stress test.
• Assist and apply holter monitors, event monitors, and perform ICG monitoring.
• Responsible for keeping all stress test rooms stocked and prepared for following day's exams.
• Performs other tasks as required.
• Experience/Education:
• License/Certification: Current CPR certification, ARRT registered, and current Ohio Radiologic License.
• Graduate of accredited x-ray technician program.
• Minimum one year customer service experience in a related field.
• Knowledge & Skills:
• Knowledge of state license regulations.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and x-ray equipment including safety hazards common to all radiological exams.
• Knowledge of x-ray procedures and protocols, anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-rays including body mechanics and patient movements.
• skill in easily identifying equipment and related problems on all x-ray equipment.
• Proper positioning of patients.
• Abilities:
• Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks.
• Confidentiality- In order to perform job functions, employees will have access to Protected Health Information (PHI) . Employees are to access only the information necessary to fulfill specific job requirements, including special assignments. When accessing PHI, employees are to use the information in accordance with HIPPA regulations. Environmental/ Working Conditions/Physical Demands- Standing, stooping and bending. Requires movement of equipment and patients. Occasional stress from patient and job related situations.

Exposure to radiation, communicable disease, and other conditions common to the radiology setting.

Equipment/Tools or special clothing required to perform the job- X-ray Unit, Developer, and Darkroom.
