Mechanical Assembler / Production Assembler
A growing manufacturer of high-precision mechanical components and gear systems is seeking a Mechanical / Production Assembler to join our team.
**No gearbox experience required. Candidates with mechanical aptitude, auto repair experience, or machine shop exposure are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided.
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM On-site in Ocean Twp, NJ
Starting at $20/hour
Job Responsibilities
- Perform general assembly and machine shop work
- Lift and move gearing components, gearbox housings, shafts, and bearings between workstations
- Manufacture subassemblies used in gearboxes, including shafts, gears, and bearings
- Assemble and repair right-angle gearboxes
- Maintain a clean and professional shop environment
- Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team
- Ensure attention to detail and maintain high quality standards for all assemblies and subassemblies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform physical work and lift up to 50 lbs
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with:
- Hand tools
- Drill presses
- Manual and hydraulic presses
- Small power tools
- Ability to read blueprints (a plus)
- 1 year of experience in a machine shop, auto shop, or mechanical assembly (preferred)
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills
