Responsibilities
- Transcribe detailed physician-patient interactions in real-time, capturing vital signs, symptoms, diagnoses, treatment plans, and other relevant clinical information.
- Accurately update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records (EHR) systems to ensure complete and compliant documentation.
- Assist healthcare providers by preparing charts, organizing medical records, and verifying patient information prior to examinations.
- Support the clinical team by documenting procedures, lab results, imaging reports, and medication details with precision.
- Utilize strong typing skills to ensure rapid and accurate transcription during busy clinic hours or emergency situations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to clarify ambiguous notes or terminology to uphold the highest standards of medical documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with privacy laws and organizational policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in transcription, medical office administration, or related roles within healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient documentation management, specifically Eclincial Works is a plus
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical conversations.
- Prior experience working in emergency room environments is highly desirable due to the fast-paced nature of the role.
- Excellent typing skills with high accuracy and speed to keep up with live physician dictation.
- Ability to understand and document complex medical procedures and diagnoses clearly and thoroughly.
