What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Premier Pediatric and Adolescent Care?
- Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals in providing direct patient care.
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment for patient visits.
- Record patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints accurately in electronic health records.
- Administer vaccines and medications as directed by healthcare providers, following all safety protocols.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, collect specimens, and ensure proper handling for diagnostic purposes.
- Provide guidance and education to parents and caregivers on pediatric health, preventive care, and medication instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment within the clinic.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic-specific policies and procedures.
Responsible for care coordination between patients and physician by assisting with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical history.
Must have great customer service skills and enjoy working with kids of all ages.
