Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will work closely with healthcare providers providing vitals, patient care, injections, etc. This position requires attention to detail, willing to learn, reliability, punctuality and consistent presence.
Duties
- Perform medication reviews, take patient vitals, medication count and CSMD monitoring, record information in patient's medical record.
- Relay clinician instructions/orders to pharmacy regarding patient medications and prior authorizations, discharge education to patient pre/post office visit/procedure to
- Document medical history, physical examination findings, and treatment plans as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Ensure that all medical documentation adheres to legal and ethical standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to ensure accurate documentation.
- Ensure patient rooms and supply closet are clean, stocked and set up each day.
- Pre-visit preparation, assisting the providers with the patient visit and/or procedure
- Participate in training sessions to stay current with EMR/EHR systems and documentation practices.
- Other duties as assigned to include: answering voicemails and returning calls by EOB, medication precertification, preparing and stocking rooms with medical inventory, IM injections, assisting provider with US procedures, phlebotomy/IV starts for Interventional procedures requiring sedation, orthotic brace fitting (training by staff)
Experience
- Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required / intramuscular injection experience
- 2 years medical assistant experience in same/similar setting preferred
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems is required; experience with specific platforms is a plus (Eclinical Works) / Phreesia
- A strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology a plus
- Excellent documenting skills
- CPR certification (not required but a plus)
4 day work week (Mon, Tues / Th, Fri (off on Wednesdays) with option to pick up OT on Wednesdays in a different office when needed (not required).
