Overview
Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Electromyography, Technician to join our team. Position Summary
Performs nerve conduction and electrodiagnostic studies under physician supervision, ensuring accurate results, proper equipment maintenance, and high-quality patient care. Serves as a liaison between patients and providers while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and clinical standards. This is a part time role involves working Monday through Friday in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Performs nerve conduction studies and assists in electrodiagnostic studies as required, under the supervision of the EMG physician
- Recognizes and troubleshoots physiological and non-physiological artifact and technical issues, while recognizing normal and abnormal results to take the reasonable steps to obtain the best study on the patient
- Cleans, replenishes, maintains, and assures availability of instruments and supplies needed in the EMG exam room
- Assists the EMG Physician as needed during the needle examination and sets up for physicians’ procedures
- Ensures equipment meets quality standards
- Reports findings and calculates nerve conduction values
- Acts as the physician liaison between patients and doctors regarding patient questions and concerns
- Maintain HIPAA compliant environment.
- Ensures patient receives education as indicated by the provider
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred
- Completion of Neurodiagnostic Technology program or a minimum of one-year on-the-job training in a similar role required
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience with nerve conduction studies and EMG in a medical office or healthcare setting
