Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Central Scheduling Representative (CSR) to join our team in Havertown. Position Summary
The Central Scheduling Representative (CSR) is responsible for registering patients and scheduling appointments over the telephone while delivering service "with a smile." This position requires a person with outstanding customer service skills. You must be patient and empathetic while being efficient, accurate, and effective when registering patients and routing to the preferred physician in the preferred office.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience:
- Patient registration experience preferred
- Customer service experience (call center, retail, hospitality, etc.)
- Medicare experience preferred
- Private health insurance and worker’s compensation experience preferred
- Team collaboration experience
Skills:
- Resourceful and able to ask appropriate questions to provide callers with a positive experience
- Excellent data entry and spelling skills
- Self-motivated; able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong decision-making skills
- Excellent customer service to callers
- Speak with confidence in a pleasant & professional manner
- Be thorough while effective and efficient
- Possess a strong work ethic and excellent attendance record
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus but not required
Position Responsibilities
- Screen patients to establish the urgency of their condition and coordinate appointments within the appropriate timeframe
- Conduct comprehensive patient interviews and enter accurate information into the patient management system
- Coordinate appointments with appropriate physicians in patients’ preferred office locations (19 physicians and 16 office locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey)
- Screen patients for insurance to ensure acceptance and advise of patient responsibilities prior to appointments (referrals, co-pays, etc.)
- Confirm patient appointments and answer telephone inquiries accurately
- Maintain and protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist in other areas/departments when time permits
- Other tasks as assigned or requested
