What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wheelchair and stretcher van driver position at Premier Medical Transit?
**Overview**
Premier Medical Transit is a local medical ride company in Sioux Falls. We take people to hospitals, dialysis, and nursing homes. Some rides are in town. Some are out of town.
You drive the van. You run the wheelchair lift and the stretcher. You handle the passenger. Facility staff does not do that part.
**What you will do**
- Drive a wheelchair van and a stretcher van
- Run the lift and secure the wheelchair or stretcher
- Get the passenger on and off the van
- Pick people up on time and get them to the appointment
- Do a walk-around before you leave: lift, lights, brakes, tires
- Call the office if you are running late or the van has a problem
- Write down the miles
**What you need**
- Valid driver license
- Clean driving record
- A phone
- Able to work weekday mornings
- Able to push a wheelchair and operate a stretcher
- Wheelchair van experience helps. It is not required. We will show you the van.

Pay is $17 to $20 an hour. About 25 to 35 hours a week. Paid training.

We drug test before you start. No start date until that is done.
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 – 35.0 per week
