Specimen Processing Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Specimen Processor to join our laboratory team for an evening/night shift. As a critical member of our team, you will ensure accurate handling, labeling, and processing of specimens in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, accession, and process laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently
- Verify specimen labeling and accompanying documentation
- Prepare specimens for testing, storage, or transport according to protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace
- Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.)
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and supervisors regarding specimen issues
Schedule:
- Full-time evening shift: 6 pm-2 am
- Every other Saturday: 5 pm-8 pm
- Occasional coverage may be required, with shifts potentially starting as early as 12 pm
- Prior laboratory, specimen processing, or healthcare experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently during evening hours
- Basic computer skills and data entry experience
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
