What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histotechnologist position at Premier Medical Associates (PMA)?
Job Overview:
· Histology:
- Process tissue specimens through fixation, dehydration, clearing, and infiltration
- Perform embedding, cutting, and staining of surgical specimens
- Operates equipment such as microscope, microtome, tissue processor, cryostat, and embedding center
- Labels specimens and tissue for examination request and gross examination
- Prepare minute biopsies, decalcify bone, process bone marrow specimens, and submit tissue for specialized studies
- Perform a variety of special stains by hand, such as Trichome, Giemsa, Alcian blue, and PAS
- Prepare solutions and reagents for special stain procedures
- Perform procedures in the frozen section area using rush technologies
- Perform ThinPrep slide preparation and DIF's
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
