Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Locksmith Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience with installing, repairing, and servicing locks, as well as excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, rekey, and service mechanical and electronic locks
- Provide emergency lockout services (residential, commercial, or automotive)
- Cut keys and program transponder keys
- Install and maintain safes and security hardware
- Diagnose and troubleshoot lock or access control issues
- Maintain accurate service records and reports
- Communicate clearly with customers and provide exceptional service
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a locksmith (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Related experience in carpentry, preventative maintenance, or electrical work is a plus
Requirements must be Met
- Potential Disqualifiers: Convictions for felonies, Class A misdemeanors, or being a registered sex offender in any state can disqualify an applicant. Habitual drug use or alcohol dependence can also be disqualifying factors.
- FBI Background Check: The background check includes an FBI background check, in addition to the DPS check.
- Fingerprint-based Criminal History Check: Applicants must submit fingerprints for a check through the DPS.
- Sex Offender Registry Review: The DPS Sex Offender Registry is reviewed as part of the background check.
