The Garden Center Associate will assist customers in selecting plants, flowers, and landscaping supplies while providing expert advice on garden care and maintenance. This position requires a blend of retail sales experience and a love for plants.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting plants, flowers, and gardening products based on their needs and preferences.
- Provide knowledgeable advice on plant care, garden design, and seasonal planting.
- Maintain the appearance of the garden center by organizing stock, watering plants, and ensuring displays are attractive.
- Operate cash registers and POS systems to process customer transactions accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed about new products, gardening techniques, and industry trends to better assist customers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
- Knowledge of gardening practices, plant care, and floral design is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management.
- Proficiency in using cash registers and POS systems for transactions.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are beneficial.
- Ability to lift and move stock as needed; physical stamina for working on your feet throughout the day.
