What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Maintenance Manager position at Premier Island Management Group?

Status: Full-Time Year-Round

Salary:  $70,000

Hours/Days:  8 am - 5 pm.  Sunday - Thursday.  Friday and Saturday off.  

Education, Experience, and/or Special Skills:  A BS or BA degree preferred, management experience required.  Construction/ Maintenance/Property management experience.

  1. Summary of the main function/purpose of the position: To manage the unit maintenance team and ensure that all units on the Portofino property are properly maintained.
  1. Key Principal duties/responsibilities (5-8):
  • Supervision of unit maintenance.
  • Overseeing the maintenance billing process.
  • Inventory control.
  • Special projects. 
  • Customer complaints handling.
  • Overseeing vendors.
  • Training.

Occasional duties or projects which may be performed at irregular intervals:

  • Hurricane preparation
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the management.

III Accountability: Areas in which the position is accountable/responsible:

Records: Maintain accurate financial and work records.

Safety:  Perform all assigned tasks safely and train other employees.

Customer Service: Assist owners and guests with any needs. Respond to customer complaints.

Dept. Specific:  Hands-on management.

  1. Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervises the unit maintenance department and other maintenance divisions, if needed

V Educational and/or equivalent in experience requirements: 

High school diploma required.  A BS or BA degree is preferred, and management experience is required.  

Construction/ Maintenance/Property management experience.

Specialized or technical educational requirements:  

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions and reports.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Business correspondence.
  • Mathematical skills required.
  • Understanding of accounting and finance.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.   Ability to interpret a variety of instructions when furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
  • Safety training is preferred.

Certification or licensing requirements: 

Valid Florida Driver's License 

VI Specialized equipment or machines used in the course of the duties of the position. 

Ability to operate power tools and hand tools. Computer skills: accounting software, word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, internet, and e-mail.

VII.     Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk.  The employee will often be required to reach with hands and arms.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
