Full-Time Patient Account Representative
  
Responsible for providing excellent Customer Service in the Business Office as well as all duties listed below under “sample duties”.  

Completes electronic claims submission daily for both primary and secondary claims. Utilizes automated editing functions for review of incorrect ICD-10 codes, CPT codes and HCPCS codes.  Utilizes claim editing software and application processes for identifying and correcting claims submission errors.  Utilizes electronic interface for importing of physician charges.  Posts line-item payments and adjustments to patient accounts. Utilizes electronic remittance payment process as available by insurer.  Performs claims follow-up with insurance carriers on unpaid / denied claims. Completes and files reconsideration requests and / or appeals to carriers with additional documentation or corrections. Maintains continual knowledge of payor policies to assure optimal reimbursement for all professional services and infusion services. Investigates and analyzes payor remittance advices regarding denials and reimbursement discrepancies.       Properly scans and indexes required documents relating to patient accounts. Tactfully collects balances on accounts and post monies. Work with patients to develop payment plans. Research and resolve patient billing inquiries or issues for all professional and infusion services.  Schedule patient appointments as needed. Backup coverage for Patient Intake Coordinator (Front Desk) when needed. Performs Other related duties as assigned. 

High School Graduate 
Medical Billing and ICD-10 coding experience required – 2 years
At least 2 years of Rheumatology billing experience preferred
